Annual General Meeting 2016

Agenda

All SECED members are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Society. A full agenda will be made available at least 21 days prior to the meeting. The following outline agenda is given:

a) The Committee’s annual report;
b) The accounts for the financial year up to the preceding 31st December;
c) Nominations to the Committee by the Nominating Bodies;
d) The names of candidates for election to the Committee;
e) Any resolutions put forward by the Committee.

Any resolutions duly supported by not less than five members of the Society and notified to the Secretary not less than seven days before the date of the Annual General Meeting, shall be dealt with at the meeting.

The AGM is followed by the EEFIT AGM and the evening meeting, Development of Realistic CFRP Retrofit Schemes for Existing Reinforced Concrete Structures.

Nominations

This year there will be 5 vacancies for elected members on the Committee.  In accordance with the Society Statutes the Secretary must:

Ask members, not later than 45 days before the AGM, for proposals for candidates to fill vacancies amongst the elected members of the Committee that will arise in the following year of office.  Any candidate must be a member of the Society and in good standing, and must be proposed and seconded by two members who shall have obtained the consent of the candidate concerned.

All such proposals shall be despatched to reach the Secretary not less than 30 days before the date of the Annual General Meeting.  If the number of candidates exceeds the number of vacancies to be filled, a postal ballot shall be called.

Members are therefore requested to propose candidates for election onto the Committee. A nomination form has been distributed to all members by post. If you did not receive the nomination form, please contact the SECED Secretary. Nomination forms must reach the Secretary no later than Monday 29th March 2016.
